The building will be only two stories as to blend in with the neighboring structures
It all started from Kandinsky’s circles. Wassily Kandinsky created works of art formed by simple lines and shapes. The simplicity of his design and the eye-catching experience of the artwork is the experience that the wellness center should have
The center promotes common spaces, where people feel welcome, safe around others but still have a contemplative personal experience of the space. The same way that a multitude of lines creates a circle, a multitude of people creates a community.
The inspiration is obtained by the principles of the visual arts as contemplative, but also following the Vitruvian Theory that every space must be designed according to three principles: Firmitas, Utilitas, Venustas.
It doesn’t matter how you use the space but it must bring you to reflect; reflect on life and on the idea that art can be shared with anyone.
The design follows the site outline leaving open space in the front.
At the tip of the building, a round staircase library creates a cantilever over the entrance and allows for a very scenic location
The side of the building will have a decorative corten steel panel to allow for privacy on the back half of the structure. Its materiality and design repeat within the building as well.
